My blog has moved to
I am 100% complete on upgrading my new Unscripted Moments Photography Blog. Please change your bookmark to:
www.unscriptedmomentsphotography.com/Blog
I was able to transfer all my post (but not the comments) from this blog to the new blog so you can start going to the new site. All new post will be posted at the above link. Sorry for the inconvience and I hope to see you at the new place!!!!!
The girls and I spent the morning with friends at the Museum. We had gotten a few inches of snow so it was a perfect day to be inside. Kids love the museum, they aren’t at the age where everything is boring and historical. Actually, I am not sure if they even noticed any of the displays. If we walked by a set of benches they would good from spot to spot sitting, standing, and crawling over them. It goes along the theory of the best part of a gift (for children anyway) is the cardboard box the it comes in.
I finally was able to get a photo of R.’s new skirt from Matilda Jane Clothing. We were at the Henry Ford Museum and everyone comments on how cute it was. Never mind the girl in the skirt or the sister and mom, but the SKIRT was so darn CUTE. hehe.

When I edit my sessions I edit the images fully in {classic color}, {black & white}, and then some in {vintage texture} or {not your ordinary photo}. I am in a vintage texture phase and love the look. In my opinion it makes the photo a little more artsy. Some photographer on edit photos in black and white or color etc. There is never a “right” way to do art so my question is what editing style do you like better. If you need to check out the different styles beside color and bw go to the Unscripted Moments Photography website and click on the {galleries} tab.

You may have to scroll down and turn off the music playing in the side bar to listen to the video. Sorry. The girls are talking quietly.
Many days while I am doing what ever it is I do I will stop and listen to what the girls are playing. I have tried to capture them on video before but both girls have stealth hearing. As soon as they hear the beep beep of the DVD Cam go one they stop playing. WELL, I got this this time!!! I turned the camera on way in the back of the kitchen and quiet snuck up on them. How they did not see me pointing the camera or hear me giggling I do not know. Just in case you miss the beginning part, they are playing "America’s Next Top Model" R. is the Photographer and H. the model. Watch closely how R. poses H. ever so perfectly. H. is turning into such a great model so addeds her own little style to the photo just before the "shutter" is cllllicked.
This recording is unauthorized by those participating in the video, hehe.

The postman heard my cry and left me a nice little package today. I didn’t get it until late so I will have to take photos tomorrow!!! Reese was soo excited about the clothes she ripped everything out of the bag before I could get me jacket off.
Thank you Heather F. for being such a wonderful trunk keeper and helping me with my order for Amy’s show and My recent trunk show!!!
Where are my Matilda Jane outfits I ordered for my girls???? LOL!! I never get excited about clothes but I am sooooo in love with Matilda Jane Clothing I can’t not wait for the girls outfits to arrive. I my order something for myself too.
If you have cute outfits for your children and want portraits give me a call or email. I have a few spots available in October for photo sessions. I know, OCTOBER!!!! Yep, I am booked except for the month of October so do not wait to schedule and hope you can get an outdoor fall holiday session. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!!!!

When I need to get the entire house dusted, vacuumed, bathrooms cleaned and laundry done I can do it In a matter of hours. BUT when it comes to everyday chores they never seemed to get done??? I didn’t do the deep clean I wish i could do but my house is picked up and all the laundry, except Chris’, is washed and put away. It feels good to have a clean house, makes me feel like my life is organized and I can think much more clear.

Baby J. was born 2.5 weeks ago and sooooo adorable. She was the BEST little girl ever through the session. Pam your family is so wonderful! I hope you lke the sneak peeks. I know you are a BW photo fan so I will give you a little tease.

Poor little N. just had his 4 months shots on Friday, our session was on Saturday morning. He was such a trooper despite not feeling 100%, and did a WONDERFUL job. Thank you for having me into your home, you were such a great family. I hope N. feels better and see you in a few days.

With every session there is one photo I fall in love with. This next one was one of the very first photos I edited and LOVE IT!!! The moment and teraction is perfect. Hopefully you do too, (but you won’t hurt my feelings if you don’t.
Yeap, today she turns 36y {again}
I would have said 34 but then that would make her younger than me. Hope you have a great day!!!

Go to her blog to wish her a happy birthday. My Mom’s Blog

Yesterday morning, I meet the most fun and loving couple. It was easy to tell how excited they are for their baby girl to arrive. The mom-to-be couldn’t stop smiling the entire session. Such a beautiful day to do a beautiful session!!! You two were super and up for anything, I enjoyed meeting you. Here are a few photos I have done.

If you are looking to have a maternity, child, family, senior, engagement portrait session taken please send me an email. I have a few openings remaining for 2008.

……YOURSELF

a thought for today.
A local boutique mailed out a newsletter this past week with new earth friendly baby products. One product is a flushable DIAPER!!! I guess I didn’t realize disposable diapers take 500 years to decompose. Check out this website to learn more.

Starting today I will be offering two new BABY PLANS to Unscripted Moments Photography.

I just finished packaging two print orders. In one of the orders is a 20x30 family portrait, I can’t wait to deliver it to the family. I wish I would be able to see what it will look like once it’s hung above their fireplace. Well, that got me thinking… How and where do you have your Unscripted Moments Photos in your home? I would love to have a small snapshot of your images to post here on the blog. So if you would like to share your images email your pictures to kim@unscriptedmomentsphotography.com and I will post them here as(if) I get them.

On another note, tomorrow is February 1st and I am currently booking sessions for February and March, and April. Clients have already started to book their summer sessions as well, so if you are considering having a children, family, maternity/newborn, or senior portrait session please do not wait to contact me.

Are you ready for Valentine’s Day?
Computers that is. Just picked my macbook up from getting a tune up, no problems
As much as I hate sales people greeting me at the door, I love it at the Apple Store. There are so many workers each customer could have help if needed. It’s nice to know I can get in and get out fast, especially with two kids in tow.
Monday morning I am bringing my computer in the shop for a tune up.
It will take 24 - 48 hours before I get it back so if you do not hear from me until after Wednesday do not be surprised. If you want to place a print order, you can still email or call me but I will not be able to send it off to the printers until later this week.
Until I come back online here is how we have spent our weekend so far.

I am currently booking photo sessions for the spring 2008 and only have a limited number of openings. If you would like to have your children or family unscripted moments captured please call or email. I schedule portrait / candid photo sessions for children, family, senior, maternity, and newborns (within first two weeks of life is best) photo session.
edited to add: This photo is just for Courtney J.
The best I could get even though it’s out of focus.
In one of my photography forums I have been helping other photographers with various aspects of their business. Sometimes people just need a little spark to get the creative juices going, so help me. What do you want to see me take photos of? Here is your chance to give me direction, it’s just for fun so give me good ideas.
The rules:
•must include something to do with children or include a child (preferably girls since I have two:-))
•must be family friendly!!!
I will post the photos as I get them done.
edited to add: I know people are reading this so please don’t be shy. Atleast comment to say hello:-)
For Amie:-)

Look at how cute these two are. I was able to spend Saturday morning with this wonderful family. It’s alway interesting to see the personality of children. During the session, the little girl wanted to have a pacifer, which her mom stated she usually does not take, and the little boy just wanted to stay curled up and sleep. They were the cutest little babies. When I look at the photo of the toes I want to touch them. Thank you for having me into your home, I enjoyed meeting you all!!!

If you are looking for a custom photographer to do your newborn session send an email or call. Typically, newborn sessions are scheduled to occur in the first two weeks after birth.
I am also booking sessions for 2008. Clients have started to book their sessions into June, so if you are thinking about using an outdoor natural light child, family, maternity, or senior photography please do not wait until the last minute to try and schedule a portrait session. January is completely full and I am not filling dates in February and March.
Here are some photos from my New Years Day Newborn session. Thank you again to the S. family for having me in their home. You all were wonderful!! I should be calling you soon

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays. We spent the week at my parents relaxing, visiting with family, and playing in the snow. I think the snow likes us because it followed us to my parents, rained here at home and we returned to grass, then woke up the next morning to snow on the ground.
Thankfully, We love it!

this is looking up our street.

I will be out of town on vacation 12.23.07 - 1.1.08. Please email with any questions or wanting to book a 2008 date and I will respond to your email when we return home.
I hope you all have a wonderful, safe and warm Christmas. See you in 2008!!
For the past couple of days I have been fighting a chest cold. Well this morning I woke with no voice. YIKES! (Why can’t this happen to my kids from time to time, just kidding.) My dh made a MD appointment for me this morning and come to find out I have bronchitis. I should be better in a few days with the help of antibiotics but don’t know how long before my voice is back. So if you need to contact me I would appeciate if you email or atleast leave an email address in your voice mail so I can get back to you in a timely manner.
I am currently booking maternity, child, senior, family portrait sessions for the weekends in 2008. Each family I had the pleasure of photographing in 2007 recieves a 10% discount on their 2008 session fee, on top of any referral discounts you may have earned. Dates do fill up in advance so if there is a particular date you want your photos on call in advance.
We should be getting snow this weekend, I hope every one satys warms and enjoys the holiday season.
Why is it Murphy’s Law actually happens? I was driving home from, I don’t even remember, and I thought "How great that I have not gotten sick in the past two years." Sure I would get a sniffle here a cough there but nothing that really slowed me down. WELL, wouldn’t you know it I woke up yesterday morning with chest congestion and now a fever. I look fine but my head is all foggy.
So I apologize ahead of time if I talk to anyone and do not make sense, it’s the cold talking.
For example, Hannah and I went grocery shopping yesterday morning. The cashier had to remind me three times to not do things. First I started unloading my groceries before the lady in form of my was done unloading, then to pay, and finally to tell me they put my groceries in a new cart. I thought I was being helpful by putting some of my own items in my cart.
Now I am off to take a nap and I don’t even care if the girls trash the house. (Ok, I am not that sick, they will lay down with me.)
Saturday morning I went to photography a maternity session for a wonderful family. They are expecting their second child and do not know if it’s a boy or girl. I enjoyed meeting and working with you all. A. is just adorable, this baby is going to have a great big sister!! I hope you feel better A.
Your maternity photos are finished and now we all await, some more anxiously than others
, for the new baby to arrive. Good luck in the next few days and I wish you all the best. Call me when you are ready for the next set of photos. Looking forward to seeing your all again soon! Hope you like the photos. Happy Holidays!!!

Here is two of my favorites from my last newborn session. Such a gorgeous family!!I am hoping to have all the images done this week.

Being able to spend Sunday morning with the G. family was a pleasure. It was cold, windy, and rained but these boys were wonderful. Even though it was one of the coldest days this fall they all kept smiles on their faces. I couldn’t have asked for a better family to fight the cold with. Here are a few photos I have done, I hope you like them.
Here is the big change for the face of Unscripted Moments Photography. It my new website! You have to see how BIG the images are, I love it and hope you will as well. Check it out.

I spent the morning with a wonderful family in Ann Arbor. Hope you enjoy this few photos I have done:-)

Unscripted Moments Photography is offering a complitmentary maternity session for anyone who books and pays for a newborn session. Booking of the newborn session must be done at least 2 months in advance to allow time to have the maternity session scheduled. Maternity sessions typically done between 34 - 38 weeks gestation. You will be able to combine your photos from the maternity and newborn sessions in your print order. If you have any questions regarding maternity or newborn session please either send an email or call.

I am starting to book sessions for the 2008 calendar year and only take a limited number of clients per month. If you are thinking about scheduling a session in 2008 book early to get the date you want.
I am so excited!!! Can’t really give you all the details right now but a biG changes is coming for Unscripted Moments Photography. When everything is all said and done I hope you all like it as much as I think I am going to.
As Halloween gets closer, watch for ghost, goblins, and witches to look in your windows. They are after your candy.

I am completely booked for the 2007 year, except for newborn sessions. If you are looking for newborn, family, child sessions call to schedule a date for Winter/Spring 2008.
The girls and I carved one pumkin tonight for fun. There are 4 other pumpkins around our house which need carving over the next week.

Fall is my FAVORITE season. What can be better than having a cloud free day slight breeze, although this weekend is quite windy, temps in the 60’s, and leaves full of bold warm orange, red, and yellow colors. Being able to go outside in a pair of capri pants, and long sleeve shirt do anything you want without being to hot or to cold is bliss.
Along with being able to be outside, daylight starts to get shorter. To me it brings about a sense of peace and the feeling of wanting to relax. In the summer, it doesn’t get dark in my area until between 9-10p so to have it dark between 7-8p is great. THe girls are able to settle down hours before I feel ready to go to be.
I don’t feel like because it’s still sunny out we should be outside until the mosquito’s drives us inside. (and they were aweful towards the end of summer) The extra few hours of darkness help me sleep through the night also instead of suffering from insomnia.
Right now I am sitting in a pair of shorts and a long sleeve T shirt listening to the windy rustle through the trees outside. The sunny is shining bright and it’s going to be a BEAUTIFUL day!! I love FALL.

Currently all my regular session dates for the rest of 2007 are filled, I will still book newborn sessions throughout the rest of the year, but am booking for the 2008 year. If you are interested in having a maternity, newborn, child, or family session call or email me.
I spent Saturday Morning with a wonderful family. Right now I am finishing up with the editing of their session photos, what an adorable little guy. He was such a trooper and handled having a camera pointing at him for 2 plus hours better than most adults. Thank you for allowing me to come into your home and I hope you enjoy the sneak peeks. I will be calling you in the next few days to set up your proofing session.

Hope you like them!
